WIRELESS CHARGING IN THE NEWS
In the petrochemical and coal chemical plant areas, these are the scenarios that explosion-proof inspection robots most want to enter but also the ones that are the most difficult to access. Next to the refining and chemical plants, flammable and explosive gases such as hydrogen and ethylene coexist with dust. For the robot to "run smoothly and see clearly" is just the first step - whether it can enter depends on whether the charging process has obtained the qualification. For the project bidding of explosion-proof areas, the technical bid clearly stipulates: electrical equipment entering explosive gas environments must obtain national explosion-proof certification and be marked with the Ex symbol; the charging facilities for mobile equipment are also subject to review.
Many integrators have made great efforts on the robot's body, but they "fell flat" in the charging process. Traditional contact charging relies on metal electrodes to connect, and the moment of plugging and unplugging generates an electric spark, which is a direct ignition source in an explosive gas and dust environment, and cannot pass the explosion-proof review; even if it is encapsulated with a flameproof box, frequent manual plugging and unplugging also makes the flameproof meaningless. If the charging qualification is not met, the entire machine solution will be rejected at the bidding review stage.
WIRELESSPT has launched a sealed-type explosion-proof wireless charger for explosion-proof inspection and AGV robots, solving this contradiction from the principle. Wireless charging transmits energy through electromagnetic field coupling in the air, without contact, no plugging and unplugging, no electric sparks, fundamentally eliminating the ignition source, and naturally meeting the requirements of explosive environments. The product has obtained national authoritative institution certification, with dual explosion-proof certifications of Ex mb II C T6 Gb (gas) + Ex mb IIIC T80℃ Db (dust), covering both gas and dust hazardous areas, and implementing GB/T 3836.1-2021 and GB/T 3836.9-2021 explosion-proof standards, which can be directly used as the qualification document for project bidding.
Taking the main model of the explosion-proof 1200W-48V-20A inspection robot as an example, with a full-load vertical working distance of 0–50mm, the standard offset distance is ±20mm for the long axis and ±10mm for the short axis, the robot does not require high-precision positioning when parked; the maximum transmission efficiency is ≥87%, constant current-constant voltage charging management, over-temperature protection at 80±2℃, multiple protections against overcurrent and overvoltage; the transmitter and receiver have protection grades of IP67, and can operate stably within the environmental temperature range of -40℃ to +60℃; it supports three startup methods: 485, CAN controlled start-up and proximity charging, and is compatible with 2.4GHz radio communication, truly achieving unmanned power replenishment.
For heavy-load scenarios, WIRELESSPT also provides explosion-proof 3000W-48V-50A. The standard vertical working distance is 40–80mm, the standard offset distance is ±50mm for the long axis and ±10mm for the short axis, the transmission efficiency is ≥87%, suitable for explosion-proof AGVs and heavy-load transfer robot cluster operations. The entire explosion-proof product line covers power ranges of 180W to 3000W, environmental temperature ranges, protection grades, and communication interfaces all follow unified industrial standards.
Beyond the qualification, the explosion-proof wireless charging also brings tangible benefits to the owners: no electrode wear, completely saying goodbye to carbon brushes and periodic replacement of plugs; no manual plugging and unplugging, the plant area inspection truly realizes less humanization and unmannedization; the fully sealed encapsulation structure is corrosion-resistant and vibration-resistant, suitable for the harsh working conditions of the plant area.
In the explosion-proof scenario, the charging qualification is the ticket to enter. WIRELESSPT explosion-proof wireless charging with a complete qualification combination of "gas + dust" dual certification, Ex symbol, IP67 protection, helps inspection robots and AGVs smoothly pass the project bidding review of the petrochemical project, making the unmanned inspection of the explosion-proof area from a solution to a reality.
